CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the DeSales Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12.
For the men's 8K race, senior Angel Patino led the way by placing as the team's top finisher in 78th place out of 180 total runners. Zach Gibson and Jon Carnesi crossed the line as the squad's second and third finishers, respectively. Benett Seiler, Kyle Davis, Will Wang, Tyler Price, and Ian Fong rounded out the Penn State Harrisburg contingency.
In the women's 6K event, it was rookie Layna Horner crossing the line first for the Lions in 114th place. Melina Dhital was next in line, finishing one spot behind her teammate, while Daphnny Gomes, Katrin Cavanaugh, and Taylor Nicholas came home 120th, 143rd, and 144th, respectively, to complete the Penn State Harrisburg scoring group on the afternoon.
Both the men and the women have quite a bit of time before their next meet, which just so happens to be the United East Championships that will be hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday, Nov. 2.
