Arcadia Proves Too Much For Women's Basketball

Box Score

GLENSIDE, Pa. - Poor shooting slowed Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team in a 70-51 road loss at Arcadia on Friday night, Nov. 18.

Macy Carroll was the lone player to reach the double-digit scoring mark with a team-high 14 points off the bench. Alli Walton got to the foul line six times and finished with nine points, while Jenna Montana added six points thanks to a pair of 3-pointers.

The Lions (1-2) fell into a 6-0 hole to begin the game and tried to play catch up the rest of the way. The Knights (4-1) stretched their lead to 10 late in the first quarter but the visitors used a 5-0 run capped by a Montana triple to end the frame and pull to within 19-14 after one.

Arcadia took control of the game in the second, scoring 14 straight points to open the quarter, including four consecutive 3-balls. Mikayla Wright's layup at the 2:57 mark ended the run but the home team took a 15-point advantage into halftime.

A short burst that culminated with Montana's second 3-ball of the game cut the deficit to a dozen with 6:28 remaining in the third quarter but that's as close as the Lions would get. The Knights stretched their lead to 20-plus late in the stanza and kept Penn State Harrisburg at arm's length the rest of the way.
