ATLANTA – Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball program has been recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for its academic success during the 2025-26 campaign.


Penn State Harrisburg was honored as a WBCA Academic Top 25 Special Mention for the third year in a row. As a group, Penn State Harrisburg achieved a team GPA of 3.57 during the 2025-26 season, with 13 players recently earning United East Scholar-Athlete recognition for earning a GPA of 3.2 or higher during the most recent semester. Lauren Moffatt was also named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District before the program secured a United East Team Academic Award earlier this summer.


"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. 


The annual WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the country that carry the highest combined grade point averages (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
