Box Score Hershey Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team expected more out of their match against the Southern Virginia Knights on Friday April 11th. The Lions kept the scores tight in most of the matches, but were unable to turn scores into wins as SVU beat Harrisburg 8-1.
In one of those matches that you look back at the scores and wonder what could have been; Ben Leibig and Chris Magee were just a little bit short from taking the #1 doubles spot going down 9-7. The Team of Alex Koltun/ Vincent Lepore III also came close losing by just two games 8-6.
With SVU squeezing out both of those wins and taking the third with ease, the momentum was in their favor as singles got started. Harrisburg did not throw in the towel and fought back in singles, but again could not find the game points when on the line.
Chris Magee was the Blue and White's only winner. He took the Knights Cooper Brown to a third set tiebreaker that went in the Lions favor 10-7 for their only positive result of the day.
The Lions get no down time before heading to Frostburg State on Saturday in what should be an extremly tight match between the two teams.
