Marissa Graby Hoover D'21 - Administration/Women's Basketball
An instrumental figure in the return of intercollegiate athletics to Penn State Harrisburg in 2005, Marissa Graby Hoover provided valuable leadership and guidance in multiple areas during the early days of the modern era. A member of Penn State's 2000 Final Four team, she lent her expertise to Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball program as its first head coach, quickly resulting in a pair of deep Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) postseason runs. She also served as the department's first Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), was responsible for the creation of Penn State Harrisburg's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and proved a key member of the task force to initiate and accelerate the school's NCAA Division III membership. A staunch Title IX advocate, her development and alumni relations efforts resulted in the construction and renovation of multiple athletic facilities, including the Hoverter Tennis Complex and Courtney Pollock Memorial Field. A lifelong Nittany Lion, she continues to make her impact felt as the Executive Director of Development for Penn State Health and The Penn State College of Medicine.
