Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team erased late deficits multiple times en route to defeating non-conference foe Marymount (Va.) in four sets at the Capital Union Building on Wednesday night, Sept. 23. The Lions won the match by set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 17-25, and 25-21.


Brianna Ondishin Ribon had a 16-kill, 19-dig double-double, while Camryn Wettstone racked up a match-high 17 kills. Chasya Deliazard finished with nine kills and four solo blocks, Mackenzy Miller tallied 22 assists and 10 digs, and Kate Bukowski added 17 digs of her own. 


The Lions (6-5) opened the match with a 5-0 spurt during a Wettstone service run before the Saints (5-5) reeled off six in a row. The first set remained close until the final points when Penn State Harrisburg used a 6-1 run capped by an Ariana Pecunes kill to make it 24-19. Marymount rallied to pull to within one but Deliazard put the finishing touches on the opener with a kill off a feed from Tobi West. 


The second set was also close for most of the way until the Lions put together a late 5-0 run during a Nicole Dos Santos serve that included kills from Ondishin Ribon and Deliazard. Penn State Harrisburg finished it off with a 6-1 spurt that saw Miller record back-to-back service aces before an Ondishin Ribon kill made it 2-0 after two. 


After the Saints took set three, Penn State Harrisburg found itself trailing 18-15 after a timeout. Once again, the home team made a run, with a Deliazard kill cutting the deficit to one, a Marymount attack error tying things up, and Tesia Oliva putting the Lions in front with a kill. Penn State Harrisburg closed the match out with a 5-1 spurt capped by an Ondishin Ribon kill to seal the non-conference win.

- Wettstone tallied a team-best 17 kills.
