READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team earned a 7-0 sweep of United East opponent Penn State Berks on Tuesday, March 31. The shutout is the second in as many matches for the Lions and their fifth straight win.
DOUBLES
The Lions picked up 6-1, 6-2, and 6-3 wins respectively on courts one through three from Wheeler/Cuturic, Pawar/Flack, and Opitz/McCarthy to take a 1-0 lead into singles.
SINGLES
The momentum carried over in singles as Harrisburg would take every match in straight sets. Wheeler kicked it off with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1, while Cuturic, earned a 6-3, 6-1 win on court two. Pawar would win 6-2, 6-1 on court three before Opitz took care of his opponent 6-4, 6-1 on court four. Flack and McCarthy rounded out the day on five and six, winning 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-3 respectively.
The men will travel to Carlisle on Thursday for a non conference showdown with Dickinson at 4pm.
