4/7/2026 12:56:00 PM

CARLISLE, PA. – After starting play on April 2, rain suspended the two remaining matches which had to be resumed on Friday, April 3. After it was all said and done, the men's team came up just short in a 3-4 loss against Dickinson.

DOUBLES
The third doubles team of Opitz/McCarthy was the first to fall in a 2-6 decision. After being down 0-2, Wheeler/Cuturic rallied back for the 6-4 win on court one to set up a decisive match on court two doubles.

The team of Pawar/Flack started up 3-0 before Dickinson rallied back to tie it at 3-all. The rest of the set was a back and forth affair as the set would head to a tiebreak. Flack/Pawar prevailed 7-6(2) to win the set and claim the doubles point heading into singles.

SINGLES
McCarthy fell in straight sets at the No. 6 singles position, 0-6, 0-6. Opitz and Flack at the fourth and fifth singles positions dropped their matches in straight sets by scores of 3-6, 3-6 and 2-6, 5-7 respectively, putting Dickinson in the driver's seat with a 3-1 match advantage.

Wheeler turned in a gutsy 6-3, 6-4 win at the top solo spot to earn Harrisburg's second point. On courts two and three, both matches were headed for third sets as the rain started to pick up, suspending play with No. 2 Cuturic down 6-4, 6-7(4), 1-2 and No. 3 Pawar up 4-6, 6-4, 2-1.

DAY TWO
Play resumed on April 3, with the Lions splitting the remaining matches. Cuturic fell on court two 6-4, 6-7(4), 1-6 while Pawar won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 on court three.

The men will travel to Langhorne, Pa. next week to take on Cairn in a conference showdown on April 8.
