Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team stayed hot with a 7-0 blanking of United East foe Penn State Abington at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, March 28.
The hometown Lions (5-4, 3-0 United East) secured the match's doubles point thanks to three wins, beginning with Cooper Wheeler and Damir Cuturic's 6-1 victory over Daniel Trott and Mark Tymchencko in the No. 1 matchup. Ved Pawar and Ian Ortiz bested Vlad Borodaykevych and Sanat Juneja 6-2 in the second outing, while Colin Flack and Andrew Lines defeated Kaan Ofluoglu and Charlie Batman 6-2 in the No. 3 contest.
Wheeler rolled to a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win over Trott in the top singles pairing, while Cuturic made quick work of Borodaykevych thanks to a 6-0, 6-1 decision in the No. 2 matchup. Pawar bested Tymchenko 6-0, 6-2 in the third outing, Opitz handled Juneja 6-3, 6-0 the No. 4 contest, Flack topped Ofluogu 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth pairing and John McCarthy made it a clean sweep thanks to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Batman in the No. 6 matchup.Â
Penn State Harrisburg will look to make it five straight wins in the team's next match at Penn State Berks on Tuesday afternoon.Â
