HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team swept Curry 7-0 at Hilton Head Resort on Tuesday morning, March 10.
The Lions won all three doubles matches to set the stage for their eventual sweep.
Ava Shepps and
Kiersten Strohecker defeated Josephine Williams and Michelle Walsh 6-0 in the top outing. The No. 2 duo of
Karly Anderson and
Megan Strohecker rolled to a 6-0 decision over Tyra Mitchell and Samantha Caul, while
Karina Ko and
Aubrey Gard held off Kayla Wright and Cadence Roberts in a 7-5 victory.
It was more of the same in singles action, as no Penn State Harrisburg needed more than two sets to come away with a victory. Shepps handled Williams 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 matchup, while K. Strohecker earned a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Walsh in the second outing. Anderson went over Caul 6-0, 6-0 and M. Strohecker walked away with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Mitchell in the No. 4 spot. Ko and
Rosalia Mannino made quick work in the No. 5 and No. 6 matchups respectively, both posting 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
The Lions have a quick turnaround as they go up against Alfred Tuesday afternoon, March 10 at 4 p.m.
