HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Alfred at the Spring Lake Racquet Club on Tuesday afternoon, March 10.
Alfred (12-5) took two of the doubles matches to earn the overall point for the Saxons.
Karly Anderson and
Megan Strohecker earned the lone doubles victory for the Lions (1-3) with a 6-7 (7-9) win over Alexis Gits and Allison Windisch in the No. 2 spot.
Ava Shepps and
Kiersten Strohecker fell to Alina Zabihailo 6-2 in the top contest, while
Karina Ko and
Aubrey Gard were topped by Anastasia Shaw and Becca Epping 6-1 in the No. 3 matchup.
K. Strohecker went over Alyssa Seegert 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot, tallying the only singles win of the day for Penn State Harrisburg. Elsewhere, Shepps was topped 6-1, 6-0 by Zabihailo in the top match and Anderson fell to Epping 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 pairing. M. Strohecker, Ko, and Rosalia Manino dropped contests to Windisch, Gits, and Shaw in the back three contests, respectively.
The Lions are set to travel to Penn State Brandywine on Saturday afternoon, March 21 for a United East Conference matchup.
