Men's Hoops Turns In Season's Best Offensive Effort In Win Over Berks

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team turned in its best offensive performance of the season in a comfortable 95-56 conference victory over United East foe Penn State Berks at the Capital Union Building on Wednesday night, Jan. 7. 


Antwone George led the charge with a game-high 17 points and , while Isaiah Milien racked up a season-high 14 points. Jordan Spencer filled the stat sheet with nine points, nine rebounds and five assists. Dylan Moore also reached double figures with 10 points, while Kevin Lucas Jr. and Eija Eccleston added nine each off the bench.


Penn State Harrisburg (8-7, 4-0 United East) shot the ball at a blistering pace in the opening half, going 21-for-31 from the field (67.7 percent), 6-of-11 from beyond the arc (54.5 percent) and 7-for-8 from the foul line (87.5 percent) to build a sizable 55-24 halftime lead. After a methodical start to the first half, the hometown Lions put together a 9-0 run capped by a pair of George free throws to pull ahead 20-8 at the 12:18 mark.


Milien had the hot hand in the first half, knocking down multiple 3-balls, including one that stretched the advantage to 20 for the first time with 8:20 left before the break. Another late spurt allowed Penn State Harrisburg to push the lead past 30, as a triple from Milien and a transition bucket from George made it 55-24 at halftime.


Penn State Harrisburg kept rolling after the break, maintaining its 30-plus point lead for the first 10 minutes. Spencer provided some electricity with a swipe and slam in transition that made it 80-44 with 8:42 left to play and the home team stretched the advantage to 40 for the first time when Lucas converted a layup with under four minutes remaining.
