LANGHORNE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team dropped a a narrow 65-60 decision to United East foe Cairn on Saturday afternoon, suffering its first conference loss of the season in the process.
Dylan Moore netted a team-high 20 points, while Jordan Spencer recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Chris Henderson Jr. finished with seven points and nine boards, while Antwone George added nine points off the bench.
The Lions (12-8, 8-1 United East) led by as many as 10 points with 4:59 remaining following an old-fashioned 3-point play from George but Cairn (15-5, 7-1 United East) turned it on in crunch time and closed out the contest on a game-changing 21-6 run. The Highlanders took their first lead of the day with 2:18 left to play but Moore answered with a jumper in the paint to put Penn State Harrisburg back in front on the ensuing possession.
Cairn responded with a quick layup to pull back ahead and the Lions had two opportunities in the final 1:15 to tie or go ahead but were unable to connect down the stretch.
