MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team used a big second half to roll to a comfortable 66-32 conference victory over United East foe Rosemont at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 31.
Jordan Spencer led the way, recording his fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Dylan Moore netted 11 points and swiped five steals, while
Isaiah Milien also tallied 11 points off the bench.
After a low-scoring start to the contest, the Lions (12-8, 9-1 United East) put together an 11-4 run to end the first half that included a 3-ball from Spencer and four layups capped by a bucket from Milien with 19 seconds left before the break, allowing the home team to take a 24-17 lead into halftime.
Penn State Harrisburg stayed hot to begin the second half, scoring 10 straight out of the break. The game-changing spurt started with a fastbreak layup from Moore before he hammered home a dunk off a feed from
Chris Henderson Jr. a few possessions later. Henderson closed out the run with a fastbreak layup off an assist from Davis at the 14:50 mark.
The Lions stretched the lead to 20 for the first time with 12:57 mark following a pair of Spencer free throws. Rosemont (3-15, 2-8 United East) cut the deficit to 11 following a 3-pointer with 9:57 left to play but Penn State Harrisburg made another big push in the final minutes, with
Antwone George leading the charge with six late points.
Milien and
Jayson Fain combined to bury three triples in the final two minutes and put the game on ice.
