(RV) LVC Takes Advantage of Men's Soccer's Miscues In Rain-Soaked Setback

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – A shorthanded Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team was no match for a Lebanon Valley squad receiving votes in the latest national rankings, as LVC scored three unanswered second-half goals to secure a 3-1 non-conference victory on a rainy Wednesday night, Sept. 24.

After a back-and-forth but scoreless first half, Milton Neto accounted for the lone marker of the night for the Lions (2-6-1), scoring a beautiful, bicycle-style goal, the first of his career, early in the second half. Cole Isaacs added the assist off a well-placed corner kick insertion in the 48th minute.

The turning point came only a few minutes later when back-to-back cards led to Penn State Harrisburg playing a man down for nearly the final 40 minutes. The Flying Dutchmen (5-1-2) took full advantage and quickly netted the equalizer when Nathan Prex finished off a cross from Ethan Groff with one touch in the 60th minute.

Another Penn State Harrisburg foul, this time in the box, led to a penalty shot that Prex buried less than two minutes later. LVC put the finishing touches on the game's scoring when Groff connected with Prex one last time, with the latter completing the hat trick in the 71st minute.

NOTABLES
- The Lions outshot LVC 9-8 overall but the Dutchmen held a 3-2 edge in shots on goal.
- Lebanon Valley earned eight corner kicks. Penn State Harrisburg finished with six.
- Neto's goal was the first of his young collegiate career.
- Isaac's assist was his first of the fall.
