MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Wilkes on Wednesday night, September 10, with three second-half goals sealing the win.
The first half saw Penn State Harrisburg (2-3) establish an early advantage, when
Brandon Axton had an ideal cross to
Andres Cantillo, who headed it way out of reach in the bottom right-hand corner in just the 9th minute. The home team maintained their lead throughout the half, with goalkeeper
Ethan Smith making three key saves, including a stop on Will Wagstaff's header in the 4th minute. The Lions continued to controlled the pace into halftime, leading Wilkes (0-3-1) by one.
Penn State Harrisburg didn't waste anytime after the break, as Axton started the second-half surge when he found the back of the net off a cross-bar attempt by Bhalla in the 53 minute.
William Kim extended the lead with his first career goal in the 71st minute, followed shortly by
Liam Gohn's strike less than two minutes later, off a feed from
Colin O'Hara, to push the lead to 4-0 and put the game out of reach for good.
