MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team was topped by non-conference opponent Mount Aloysius on Sunday night, August 31.
Mount Aloysius (2-0) wasted no time and scored the first and only goal in just the first five minutes of the contest. The Mounties' Gonzalo Terricabris found the back of the net from inside the eighteen-yard box and bypassed the diving attempt of Lions' goalkeeper
Ethan Smith. Penn State Harrisburg's
Colin O'Hara came close to equalizing, but his shot ricocheted off the right post in the 36th minute.
The second half began with both teams trying to establish control, but the Lions wrestled it away for the final 30 minutes, creating opportunity after opportunity.
Cole Isaacs was a key contributor, consistently creating opportunities with corner kicks throughout the half and key look that was denied by the right post. Despite playing on their heels for much of the second half, the Mounties were able to hold on and escape with the narrowest of victories.Â
