Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Thomas Klemick

TCNJ's Big First Half Proves Too Much For Men's Soccer

NEWARK, N.J. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team fell behind in in the early going and never recovered in a 4-1 loss to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6.

Andres Cantillo netted the lone score of the game, his first of the season and the first of his career, for Penn State Harrisburg (1-2) in the 87th minute, while goalkeeper Eymeris Acevedo made one save on the day.

TCNJ (2-0) struck first in the 23rd minute and quickly doubled the advantage with another marker 12 minutes later. Before the end of the half, TCNJ put more distance between themselves and Penn State Harrisburg with a third goal. Penn State Harrisburg was unable to get back into it in the second half, as TCNJ kept the lead before increasing it with a fourth goal with less than five minutes to play. Cantillo finally got Penn State Harrisburg on the board with 2:47 remaining but it proved too little too late.

NOTABLES
- TCNJ outshot Penn State Harrisburg 8-5 overall and 5-1 in shots on target.
- TCNJ also finished with an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
