MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Division II opponent East Stroudsburg on Wednesday afternoon, April 16.
Carissa Fallon earned the team's lone victory when she defeated East Stroudsburg's Jazmine Parker 6-7, 1-6, 10-7 in the No. 6 solo contest. She teamed up with
Hailey Dey in the No. 3 doubles match, but the duo fell short 6-1 to Bega Gotor and Claudia Ermina.
Elsewhere in doubles action, Penn State Harrisburg (12-6) saw
Allison Wootton and
Breanna DeSantis topped by Marketa Beladova and Louise Boyer-Vidal in the top outing, while
Anita Liu and
Sarah Shaub were bested in the No. 2 matchup.
The Warriors (15-5) continued their strong play in singles, as Wootton, DeSantis, and Liu fell to their ESUÂ counterparts in the top half of the lineup, while Dey and Shaub also came up short in the No. 4 and No. 5 outings, respectively.
The Lions will look to bounce back against Sweet Briar on Saturday morning, April 19 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex.
