MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team swept conference opponent Penn State Brandywine 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon, March 26 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex.
The Lions (7-4, 2-0 United East) won all three doubles matches to set the stage for the eventual sweep of the visitors.
Allison Wootton and
Breanna DeSantis defeated Penn State Brandywine's Samma Zahran and Emma Kaplan 6-2 in the top outing. The No. 2 duo of
Anita Liu and
Sarah Shaub held off Aerynne Mays and Sofia Guzman in a 6-1 victory.
Penn State Harrisburg's momentum carried over into singles competition, beginning with Wootton who bested Zahran 6-2, 6-2 in the top contest.
Hailey Dey took care of Kaplan 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 slot,
Karina Ko went over Mays 6-2, 6-3 in the second matchup, and Fallon cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win in the fourth outing.
The Blue & White continue conference play as they travel to St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, March 29.
