Women's Tennis Bested By Gettysburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team fell to Gettysburg 6-1 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon, March 21.

Anita Liu and Sarah Shaub combined to capture a 6-1 victory over Gettysburg's Shoshi Dondes and Eden Levkov in the No. 2 doubles matchup but the Bullets used wins in the top contest and the No. 3 outing to secure the overall doubles point, as Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis dropped a 6-3 decision to Emma Ward and Sarah Guistwite, while Hailey Dey and Carissa Fallon fell to Harper Wood and Mia Graham.

DeSantis worked hard to earn a 4-6, 7-6, 6-1 victory in singles action, defeating Levkov in the No. 2 matchup, while Wootton went the distance with Guistwite before being edged 7-5, 3-6, 3-6 in the top solo outing. Dey fell to Ward 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 3 slot, Shaub dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Dondes in the fourth contest, Karina Ko was bested by Kate Alianiello 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 5 matchup and Fallon fell to Wood 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 6 pairing.

The Lions (5-4) will look to bounce back when they begin conference play by hosting Cedar Crest on Saturday morning. They'll follow it up with a second non-conference match against Dickinson later on Saturday afternoon.
