HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2025 schedule with a 4-3 victory over Lynchburg in South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon, March 11.
The Lions swept through doubles play to secure the valuable point, led by Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis' 7-6 triumph over Maria Caro and Ashley Hair in the top showdown. Anita Liu and Sarah Shaub defeated Kayla Kosiorek and Harper Dodd 6-3 in the No. 2 contest, while Hailey Dey and Carissa Fallon edged Reese McAtee and Elora Grochowski 7-6 in the third outing.
Penn State Harrisburg continued its strong play in singles action, with Wootton earning a hotly-contested 7-6, 7-6 win over Caro in the top solo matchup. Anita Liu went the distance in a 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 win over Hair and Dey clinched the overall victory with a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Dodd in the No. 4 outing.
The Lions are back at it on Wednesday afternoon when they face Alfred for the second match of their spring break trip.
