MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with United East foe Lancaster Bible at the college's turf complex on Tuesday night, Oct. 7.
Addis Tafese came through with Penn State Harrisburg's lone goal in the second half off an assist from
Sello Seifrit. The Lions (4-6-2, 2-0-1 United East) controlled possession for much of the night but were unable to convert the go-ahead score in the final 20-plus minutes.
After a scoreless first half, the Chargers (5-4-3, 2-1-1 United East) broke through first when Lucas Durkin lofted a long ball across midfield to a streaking Silas Dellaperute who fired his attempt into the upper left corner of the net from outside the box on the right side of the field in the 54th minute.
Penn State Harrisburg answered back in the 63rd minute when Tafese used pinpoint precision to head home the equalizer off a perfectly-placed cross from Seifrit. Tafese's shot hit the lower left post and deflected into the back of the net to even things up with 27:10 remaining in regulation.
Each team got off one more look the rest of the way but neither could punch home the potential game-winning goal, with both squads settling for their first tie in conference play.
