Women's Soccer Posts Fifth Straight Shutout In Win Over Wilson

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team posted its fifth straight shutout in a convincing 4-0 victory over United East foe Wilson at the college's multipurpose turf complex on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18.

Kayla Ash and Katelyn Monette netted two goals apiece, while Diana Pon, Ava Fox, Esme Hernandez and Teagan Paragon each added an assist.

The Lions (11-5-2, 7-0-0 United East) struck first early in the opening half when Pon lofted a cross into the left side of the box off a corner kick and Ash put her ensuing attempt past Wilson goalkeeper Madison Ebersole in the 18th minute. Monette doubled the advantage with her first goal of the day off a feed from Fox with less than eight minutes to play in the first half.

After the break, Ash got back into the scoring act, this time with a pretty ball that curled into the net from the left side of the box off a quick pass from Hernandez with 19:17 remaining. Monette put the finishing touches on the day's scoring with her second marker of the afternoon, this time off a helper from Paragon with less than seven minutes to go.
