ABINGTON, Pa. - After earning an impressive 25-point lead in the third quarter, Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team left no doubt in an 84-65 victory over United East foe Penn State Abington on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Jordan Carpenter went 17-of-18 from the foul line and grabbed 10 rebounds en route to 31 points and her 12th double-double of the season.
Mikayla Coleman and
Sam Shaak were impressive from beyond the arc, as Coleman knocked down five 3-balls and Shaak had four of her own, on the way to 17 and 12 points respectively.

Penn State Harrisburg (13-6, 7-4 United East) had a monster first quarter against Penn State Abington (12-5, 8-2 United East), scoring a total of 29 points and shooting 66.7 percent from the field. The hometown Lions had no answer for Coleman early on, seeing that she hit three consecutive 3-pointers to put the pressure on Penn State Abington in just the first few minutes of the game.

The opening frame set the tone for the rest of the contest, as the visiting Lions continued to outpace Penn State Abington especially in the third quarter. Penn State Harrisburg saw their largest lead with 4:38 left in the third, after Carpenter had a pair of layups, Coleman netted a 3-ball and a jumper, and Shaak knocked down another 3-pointer.

Although the home team brought the game within 11 following a layup by Amira Hackney, it was not enough to halt Carpenter. She scored 17 of her total 31 points in the final quarter, squashing any possible late effort from Penn State Abington and sealing the victory for Penn State Harrisburg.

- Carpenter had a team-high 31 points, going 17-for-18 from the charity stripe and 7-of-12 from the field. She also added 10 rebounds to record a double-double, four assists, and a pair of blocks.
- Coleman hit five 3-pointers on just eight attempts, en route to 17 total points.
