MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team cruised to a convincing 73-55 conference victory over United East foe Rosemont at the Capital Union Building on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 22, to extend its recent win streak to four in a row.
Isaiah Eggleston led the way with his second straight double-double, racking up game highs of 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and four blocks.
Jordan Spencer finished with 14 points,
Chris Henderson netted 13, and
Lance Douglas was the fourth player to reach double figures with 10 points.
Holding a 6-4 lead six and a half minutes into the contest,
Mason Pulliam knocked down a 3-ball to spark a 27-6 run over the next seven-plus minutes, culminating with an Eggleston jumper off a feed from
Kevin Lucas Jr. that ballooned the advantage to 31-10 with 5:53 remaining in the opening half.
The Lions (6-5, 3-1 United East) took their largest lead of the first half thanks to three straight points from
Dylan Moore in the final seconds before the break, making it 42-18 at halftime.
Penn State Harrisburg took its largest lead of the game early in the second half when Douglas connected on a jumper off a find from Eggleston that stretched the advantage to 49-21 with 16:08 left to play. The Ravens (3-9, 2-3 United East) tried to get back into it by using their physicality, making 15 trips to the charity stripe in the second half but despite pulling to within 10 at the 4:40 mark, the Lions pushed back with physical play of their own.
Douglas halted the Rosemont comeback attempt with an old-fashioned 3-point play with 4:28 remaining and Penn State Harrisburg scored eight straight in the final minutes to push the lead back to 20 and put the game on ice.
