Women's Basketball Edged By Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Despite a well-balanced scoring night, Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team was edged by Salisbury 70-64 on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 14.

Jordan Carpenter recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 22 points and 20 rebounds, while Mikayla Coleman and Ali Lister both reached double figures with 15 points and 10 points, respectively. Sam Shaak netted a trio of 3-pointers and Lauren Moffatt added eight points, four rebounds, and two steals.

Going into the second quarter, Salisbury (7-3) led Penn State Harrisburg (7-4) by just one point after a back-and-forth battle in the opening frame. The Sea Gulls held a slight six-point advantage with 4:12 left until halftime, which began with back-to-back 3-pointers from Abby Plaugher and was capped off by a 3-ball from Alex Bull.

Although the game was deadlocked several times throughout the third quarter, the Lions were unable to gain the lead and kept trying to crawl back in the fourth. With 6:44 remaining, Carpenter hit a jumper to tie the contest 53-53 but Salisbury immediately answered with a 9-0 run which provided enough cushion for the home team to hold off Penn State Harrisburg until the final buzzer.

NOTABLES
- Carpenter posted a 22-point, 20-rebound double-double and added a pair of assists.
- Coleman had 15 points and three steals, while Lister led the team with six assists to go along with 10 points of her own.
