Men's Soccer Tops Wilson In United East Quarterfinal Action

Box Score

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team cruised to a 5-1 victory over Wilson in United East Championship Tournament Quarterfinal action on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2.

Colin O'Hara found the back of the net twice, while Kobe HarrisJaden Longdon, and Alexander Benbatoul each added a goal on the night. Cole Issacs and Ethan Cortes both tallied assists.

Penn State Harrisburg (14-4-2) struck first just 12 minutes into the match when O'Hara converted a penalty kick to put the home team up 1-0. The game-winning goal came in the 28th minute, when Cole Isaacs lifted a free kick directly to Harris in the box who headed it past the goalkeeper into the right corner.

Exactly one minute later, Isaacs soared a corner kick in front of the goal before the ball was kicked around and found its way to Longdon who rocketed it off a Phoenix defender into the left pocket. The Lions continued to put pressure on Wilson (7-12) in the second half, as Aidan McWilliams sent a massive thrown-in to Alden Reeves and Reeves' header found the feet of O'Hara for his second marker of the night.

The Phoenix scored their only goal of the night at the 78 minute mark thanks to Brian Mulholland who forced a one-on-one with Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Shayon Kashi and was able to chip the ball just over Kashi's reach into the net. The Lions capped things off with a marker from Benbatoul that was assisted by Cortes with just three minutes left in the contest.
