ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision on Wednesday night, Oct. 23 against United East Conference foe St. Mary's (Md.) by set scores of 26-24, 25-17, 25-21.

Although the Lions didn't see their first lead until Wettstone served an ace to put the away team up 23-22, the opening set was a back-and-forth battle between Penn State Harrisburg (14-7, 5-2 United East) and St. Mary's College of Maryland (15-10, 7-1 United East) from the start. The Seahawks were able to score the last three points to win the first frame 26-24 and the home team continued the momentum going into the second set.
St. Mary's (Md.) quickly established a 6-1 lead in the second and never looked back from there as they went on to secure the set 25-17 in convincing fashion. In the third frame, the Lions tied the game up at 9-9 and the two squads were deadlocked for five points straight before the Seahawks earned a 5-0 run to gain some distance.
