LANCASTER, Pa. - Natalie Rocuskie's hat trick and a pair of goals from Rachel Lane propelled Penn State Harrisburg's field hockey team past United East opponent Lancaster Bible in a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 15.
Rocuskie had a career day with three goals, Lane added two of her own, and Sadie Cook led the Lions (9-4, 2-1 United East) with a pair of assists. Anna Moyer and Charlotte Grove both found the back of the cage, while Kylie Rife, Alexis Nasuta, and Lane each added a helper against the Chargers (2-12, 0-3 United East).
Grove got the scoring started off a find from Lane early in the second quarter but the home team was able to keep the deficit to a single goal heading into halftime.
It was a different story after the break, however, as Penn State Harrisburg found its groove in the third quarter, with Lane doubling the lead in the 32nd minute off a feed from Nasuta. The Lions tacked on another two minutes later when Rocuskie found the back of the cage for the first time.
Less than 30 seconds into the fourth, Rocuskie struck again, this time off an assist from Cook. Cook assisted on another marker less than three minutes later when she connected with Lane for her second score of the afternoon. Moyer stretched the advantage to 6-0 with a late strike before Rocuskie put a cap on the scoring by completing the hat trick in the closing minutes.
