ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team battled its way to a 1-1 draw with United East Conference foe Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26.
Penn State Abington (13-4-2, 6-1-1 United East) struck first in the 23rd minute when Dylan Walker sent a corner kick into the box which Hugh Nungessor headed to a leaping Sean Horvay who pocketed the ball into the top right corner of the net to put the home team up 1-0.
Although Penn State Harrisburg (7-7-4, 7-0-1, United East) got off eight total shots, five of which were on frame, the visiting Lions went 78 scoreless minutes until Kobe Harris provided the goal the squad needed to tie the contest up 1-1. Harris battled with a Penn State Abington defender to gather a long clearance ball 25 yards away from the goal and rocketed a bending ball into the top right corner past goalkeeper Brendan Werner.
During the remaining 12 minutes the match, Harris yet again forced Werner to make a save to keep the score tied up and each team had a chance on goal that just missed frame. Seven total cards were issued on Saturday afternoon, four of which were given after Harris' marker with just over 10 minutes left in the game.
