Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

St. Mary's (Md.) Steals Conference Contest From Men's Soccer

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – St. Mary's (Md.) netted the game's only goal in the final minutes to steal a 1-0 decision from Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team in a marquee conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19.

The evenly-matched affair saw Penn State Harrisburg (12-4-1, 5-1-0 United East) control possession for much of the second half but the Lions were unable to find the back of the net. Following a St. Mary's foul late in the contest, Ricardo Bustamante lofted a pretty free kick into the box where a leaping Jaden Longdon finished it off with a header that appeared to put the home team in front with less than 15 minutes remaining but the apparent goal was called off for offsides.

The Seahawks (7-6-2, 6-0-1 United East) took advantage of the call and pressed forward in the final minutes, eventually leading to a Jack Nelson cross from the left side that was one-touched into the back of the net by Zach Blaum for what proved to be the game-winning score with 3:04 left to play.

- The loss ended Penn State Harrisburg's recent eight-game win streak.
