Amanda Walker

Amanda Walker begins her first season as Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball head coach in 2025. 


Walker joins Penn State Harrisburg after spending the last eight years as the head coach at Virginia State. During her time with the Trojans, Walker amassed 105 victories, including 79 wins in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. Most recently, she was named the CIAA Coach of the Year following an impressive 2024 campaign.


Walker led Virginia State to the CIAA Championship Tournament in each of her seven seasons, including a pair of North Division Titles and a berth in the conference's championship match in 2018. Under her tutelage, three of Walker's players were named the CIAA Woman of the Year/Female Athlete of the Year, two Trojans earned conference player of the year recognition and 18 players secured all-conference honors. Following the 2018 season, Walker was named a finalist for HBCU National Coach of the Year.


Prior to taking the helm at Virginia State, Walker served as an assistant at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan. While there, she also served as head coach of the JV program. She also has multiple years of experience coaching at the club level. 


Walker was a standout as a setter and libero at Division II Concord. As a player, she finished with nearly 1,000 career digs and 950 career assists. A three-year team captain, she also racked up 159 service aces and completed her illustrious career ranked top-10 all-time in program history in digs, assists and aces. 


Walker graduated from Concord in May 2015.
