LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her efforts in three victories to open the season, Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball player Brianna Ondishin Ribon has been named the United East Offensive Player of the Week. 


Ondishin Ribon helped lead Penn State Harrisburg (3-2) to an impressive opening week that included matchups with three teams that competed in last season's NCAA Tournament. After helping the Lions sweep Elizabethtown in the season opener, the senior recorded a match-high 14 kills, eight digs, and two service aces in a four-set victory over No. 16 UW-Whitewater— the first win over a nationally-ranked opponent in program history. The Basking Ridge, N.J. native followed with 11 kills and six digs against (RV) Kean before closing the weekend with a 15-kill, 10-dig double-double in a victory over defending SUNYAC champion Cortland. Ondishin Ribon finished the week with 60 kills, 44 digs, seven service aces, 69 total points, and three double-doubles. 


The tough schedule continues for the Lions when they travel to Franklin & Marshall for a tri-match on Saturday. Penn State Harrisburg faces F&M at noon before closing out the day against Mary Washington.
