LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his efforts in a season-opening victory on Wednesday afternoon, Penn State Harrisburg's Ved Pawar has been named the United East Men's Tennis Player of the Week. 


The reigning United East Rookie of the Year picked up where he left off a year ago by helping lead the Lions to a hard-fought, 4-3 victory over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday. The sophomore battled to a 7-6, 6-5 win over LVC's Zach Schrader in the top singles contest to earn a valuable point in the team's overall victory. 


Penn State Harrisburg is set to return to action by taking part in the ITA Division III Regional Tournament in Fredericksburg, Va. beginning this Thursday, Oct. 1.
