LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his outstanding combination of athletic and academic success, as well as his service to his campus and surrounding communities, Penn State Harrisburg's Fisher Druck has been named the United East Baseball Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The senior scholar-athlete award is one of the highest individual honors the conference bestows. The award is granted to one senior from each sport who represents the epitome of the student-athlete model thanks to their high level of performance on the field of play, in the classroom, and in their community.
Druck wrapped up one of the most successful and decorated pitching careers in program history this spring, earning a pair of all-region honors after being named to the United East All-Conference First Team for the third time. The senior ranked 23rd in the nation in wins (8) and 49th among Division III pitchers in strikeouts (75). The righty made 13 starts this season, posting a 3.19 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 73.1 innings thrown this season. He threw seven sterling innings and allowed just two runs to go along with five strikeouts in an NCAA Regional victory at No. 22 Russell Sage in May after striking out a career-high 12 batters in a midseason win over Wilson in late March. For his efforts, he was named the United East Pitcher of the Week in early March.
Druck racked up five ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region accolades and four United East All-Conference honors during his career. He became the program's all-time wins leader (27) in April and set the program record for career starts (47) this spring. The Lancaster, Pa. native has thrown more innings (248.2) than anyone in program history and ranks second all-time in in strikeouts (241) and fourth all-time in ERA (3.29). Druck completed his illustrious career ranked third among active Division III players in starts, fourth in wins, and 10th in strikeouts.
"Fisher has been the model student-athlete for four years," said head coach Ryan Bown. "On the field, he has been the most reliable pitcher in our program, which is why he's the all-time wins leader in our program's history. In the classroom he has dominated just as much, earning both his undergrad and master's in four years. We will miss him greatly next year as he is one of those players you simply can't replace."
He's also been consistently strong in the classroom throughout his career. Druck is a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree and was named to the United East All-Academic Team four times. He earned induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and was the United East Elite 20 Award recipient in 2024. The Accounting major posted an impressive 3.88 cumulative GPA and recently graduated in May.
In addition to his athletic and academic achievements, Druck has also volunteered his time at the Oak Hill Village Senior Living Home in Middletown, Pa., helping with gardening and maintaining outdoor areas for residents, as well as participating in local food drives and events for Meals on Wheels.
