GREENSBORO, N.C. - Thanks to his outstanding performance this spring, Penn State Harrisburg baseball player James Quici has earned ABCA/Rawlings All-America recognition. 


For his efforts during the most recent campaign, Quici was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team. He joins former standouts Bret Williams (four times), Miguel Torres, Dallas Hite, Josh Berzonski, and Blaine Waltimyer (twice) as Penn State Harrisburg baseball players to earn all-America honors of any kind.


Quici burst onto the scene during his freshman campaign, slashing .403/.496/.672 with a 1.168 OPS and racking up 27 extra-base hits, including nine home runs and 13 doubles, while his five triples matched the program's single-season record and ranked 20th among Division III players this spring. The corner outfielder ranked 21st in the nation in hits (75), 25th in the country in total bases (125), and 49th among Division III players in RBIs (57). The leadoff man also scored 54 runs, walked 35 times, and stole 19 bases this season. Across five NCAA Regional contests against No. 22 Russell Sage and (RV) Randolph-Macon, he hit two home runs and added a pair of doubles and a triple to go along with eight RBIs, five runs, and seven walks.


Following his breakout season, the Paoli, Pa. native was named the D3baseball.com Region IV Rookie of the Year and earned first-team all-region recognition from both the ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com. He also secured United East Rookie of the Year honors after being named to the United East All-Conference First Team.
