LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his efforts during the team's most recent trio of victories, Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis player Damir Cuturic has been named the United East Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Cuturic joins teammate Cooper Wheeler as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the conference's weekly award this season.Â
In three victories this past week, Cuturic finished a perfect 5-0 in his matches. In a win over Alvernia on Tuesday afternoon, the junior secured a 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 1 singles contest before following it up with two victories against Penn College the next day, including a 6-0, 6-2 win in the top singles spot and a 6-0 sweep in the No. 1 doubles matchup along with Wheeler. He closed out the week with another No. 1 doubles win against Penn State Abington and a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the match's No. 2 solo outing. Â
The Lions (5-4, 3-0 United East) travel to Penn State Berks for another conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
