LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his efforts in five games last week, Penn State Harrisburg baseball player Tim Haftl has been named the United East Player of the Week.


Haftl joins teammates Blaine Waltimyer and Fisher Druck as Penn State Harrisburg player to earn the conference's weekly award this season. 


Haftl had a big week at the plate during Penn State Harrisburg's 4-1 week. The senior slashed .529/.571/.765 with a 1.336 OPS, racking up nine total hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple. The Oxford, Pa. native racked up seven RBI, scored six runs, worked two walks and stole a base. The middle infielder recorded multiple hits in four of the five games, capping the weekend with a three-hit outing in a win over Stockton that saw his drive in two runs and score three more. 


The Lions (12-7) host Stevenson for a non-conference tilt on Tuesday afternoon.
