HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team fell to Ohio Wesleyan 5-2 on Monday morning, March 9 at the Hilton Head Resort.
The Lions' top duo of
Cooper Wheeler and
Damir Cuturic took their match 6-4 over Kobe Francis and Marcus Bode to tally the squads' lone doubles victory of the day.
Ved Pawar and
Ian Opitz were topped by Rainer Holl and Ian Tsai 7-5 in the No. 2 grouping, while
Colin Flack and
Andrew Lines dropped a 6-3 decision to Jared Crawford and Zach Heister in the last matchup.
In singles action, Cuturic had a clean slate thanks to his 7-6, 6-4 win over Holl in the No. 2 slot, while
Ved Pawar earned a 6-2, 7-6 defeat over Bode in the No. 3 pairing. Although Wheeler had a competitive outing in the top contest, the Bishops' Tsai ultimately posted a 6-4, 6-3 win. Elsewhere, Opitz dropped a 6-1, 6-0 outcome to Francis,
Michael Rivino was bested by Zach Heister 6-0, 6-2, and Flack was unable to defeat Crawford in a 7-5, 6-2 No. 6 contest.
The Lions continue spring break action on Tuesday, March 10 against Alfred at the Spring Lake Racquet Club at 4 p.m.
