MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with conference foe Cairn on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3.
The Lions (3-5-2, 2-0-1 United East) dominated on the offensive end, recording 23 total shots, 12 of which were on frame, and earning eight corner kicks compared to the visitors three. Penn State Harrisburg's
Jimmy Shensky tallied five saves after spending all 90 minutes in goal, while Cairn's Xander Jakeway had an impressive 11 saves on the day.
Mason Quinton tallied all four of his shots in the first 15 minutes of the contest, forcing Jakeway to make a trio of saves and Toby Smith to make a defensive save as well. The Highlanders (2-3-6, 0-2-1 United East) attempted to answer with a shot from Alijah Miller, but Shensky denied the opportunity.

Josiah Shamberger all had chances on target in the remainder of the first half, however Jakeway didn't allow any of the shots into the net.
The Lions wasted no time coming out of halftime, pouring in seven shots and a trio of corner kicks before the 65-minute mark. Nearly 15 minutes later, Cairn had a breakaway shot that found the back of the net, but it was quickly called back for an offside. Soon after, Cherif attempted the last shot of the contest, but to no avail, ending the contest in a scoreless deadlock.
