MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team couldn't keep up with Salisbury in the second half of an 82-56 non-conference loss at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 31.
Lauren Moffatt flirted with a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds, while
Mikayla Coleman scored a team-high 20 points.
Molli Hogbin nearly had a double-double with 10 points and seven rebounds and
Nicole Hernandez added eight points and five boards.
Salisbury (12-8) had a slim 16-15 lead after the first quarter before they continued to put pressure on Penn State Harrisburg (7-14) and extended their advantage 31-20 with 3:29 left in the second quarter. Coleman immediately answered with eight straight points for the Lions to help narrow the gap and head into halftime down by just three points.
After the midway point,
Akira Cho and Coleman both hit 3-pointers to keep the deficit within single digits. With two minutes left in the third quarter, the Seagulls went on an eight-point run to keep the Lions at bay and lead by 15. Although Moffatt started off the last frame with a layup for the Penn State Harrisburg, the last nine minutes of the contest were mostly dominated by the Seagulls.
