MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Ahead of the start of the 2026 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg baseball player Blaine Waltimyer has been named a D3baseball.com Preseason All-American.
Following an outstanding 2025 season, Waltimyer earned D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Second Team recognition. He becomes the program's third player to earn national preseason honors, joining former standouts Dallas Hite (2022) and Bret Williams (2021, 2020).Â
Waltimyer turned in one of the most productive offensive seasons in recent memory last spring. The rising senior broke out in a massive way, ranking third in the nation in doubles (24), sixth in the country in runs (68) and 20th in Division III in total bases (126). The corner outfielder also ranked 23rd among Division III players with 74 hits and his 57 RBIs ranked 40th in the nation. The leadoff man slashed .394/.476/.670, finished with a team-leading 1.146 OPS and racked up eight home runs and a pair of triples to go along with his single-season program-record doubles total. He also walked 29 times with 19 stolen bases.Â
For his efforts, the Pottstown, Pa. native secured a pair of all-America plaudits, as he was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Fourth Team and the D3baseball.com All-America Fifth Team. He earned first-team all-region recognition from both the ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com and was named to the United East All-Conference First Team after being selected to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week in May. Â
Penn State Harrisburg is set to open the 2026 season with a weekend series at North Carolina Wesleyan beginning on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21.
