LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her scoring prowess in a trio of victories last week, Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer player Diana Pon has been named the United East Offensive Player of the Week.
Pon was one of the catalysts for Penn State Harrisburg's offense across three wins last week, starting with a 4-1 victory over Susquehanna on Wednesday night that saw the Miami, Fla. native net a pair of first-half markers, including the game-winning goal. The midfielder followed it up by burying three more goals to record her first hat trick of the season in a 5-3 win at Pitt Greensburg on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the team captain tallied 10 total points thanks to five goals.Â
The Lions (3-1-1) face a tough test in their next contest at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13.Â
