Camryn Wettstone, and
Brianna Ondishin Ribon all had double-digit kills to lead Penn State Harrisburg (2-1). DeGregory posted a triple-double with 21 assists, 17 digs, and 12 kills while Wettstone and Ondishin Ribon both had 14 kills apiece against the Rangers. Drew took the first two sets 25-21 and 26-24 before the Lions found their footing and then some, sweeping the last three frames in impressive fashion. In the third set, the visitors had a pair of four-point surges that helped Penn State Harrisburg hold the advantage for the entirety of the frame. The second run was sparked by back-to-back kills from DeGregory and Ondishin Ribon, followed by two offensive miscues by the Rangers.
Although the home team earned the first point of the fourth set, the Lions left no doubt and swiped another victory to send the match into a deciding set. DeGregory sealed the 25-15 victory in the fourth with three-straight service aces to end the set, before
Charlotte Nguyen had a duo of aces of her own early in the final frame. Along with Nguyen, Wettstone helped fuel the effort in the fifth set with three kills in the shortened frame and the Lions secured the overall victory over the Rangers 3-2.
GAME 2
In the Lions' final game of the day, they were swept by undefeated Franklin & Marshall (5-0) by set scores 25-20, 26-24, and 25-16. Ondishin Ribon once again recorded double-digit kills with 10, while DeGregory and Miller totaled 15 and 13 assists, respectively.
Although the beginning set against the Diplomats was a back-and-forth affair, it was a 4-0 series that made all the difference for Franklin & Marshall. The run consisted of a kill from Coco Shultz, a pair of service aces by Emily Dean, and an offensive error by the Lions. Penn State Harrisburg was just one point away from taking the second set when they were up 24-20, but the Diplomats went on a six-point run thanks in part to Ceci Connolly who had three kills within the course of the set-winning series. In the final set, Franklin & Marshall scored the first seven points of the frame and didn't let up for the rest of the contest, earning the 3-0 sweep over the Lions.
