Field Hockey Stretches Win Streak to Five With Victory at Etown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's field hockey team stretched its recent win streak to a program-record five in a row thanks to a 3-2 non-conference victory at Elizabethtown on Tuesday night, Sept. 23.

Ami Mattingly's stellar offensive campaign continued with two more markers, while Anna Moyer converted the game-winning goal in the second half. Victoria Castano Colman also added an assist.

Mattingly opened the game's scoring with a strike late in the first quarter, giving the Lions (7-1) the early advantage in the 10th minute. Etown (2-5) responded early in the second period when Hannah Long converted the equalizer at the 13:26 mark but Mattingly answered back with her second goal of the opening half two minutes later, this time off a feed from Castano Colman.

Sara Watson eventually tied things up for the Blue Jays five minutes into the third quarter but Moyer wasted no time putting Penn State Harrisburg back in front with her first goal of the season just 28 seconds later. The home team had a chance to respond after being awarded a penalty stroke late in the third but goalkeeper Macenzie Mulholland turned away an attempt by Long to preserve the lead.

From there, the defense took over and kept Etown from getting off a shot or attempting a corner in the final frame.
