Women's Volleyball Secures Decisive Sweep at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team rolled in a non-conference road sweep of Lycoming on Thursday night, Sept. 11. The Lions earned the decisive victory by set scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-16.

Offensively, Brianna Ondishin Ribon led the way with a match-high 12 kills. Hannah DeGregory distributed a match-best 16 assists, while Kate Bukowski finished with a match-high 15 digs and five service aces.

Penn State Harrisburg (3-2) opened up a six-point advantage midway through the opening set thanks to an ace from Nicole Dos Santos and a Tesla Oliva kill. The visitors nearly stretched the lead to 10 late in the set and Oliva put the finishing touches on things with a kill that gave the Lions the early edge.

The second set saw the Warriors (3-5) get out to a 14-9 lead but Penn State Harrisburg battled back with a scoring spurt during a Bukowski service run midway through the set. The Lions reeled off six straight points to pull ahead thanks to a Bukowski ace before closing out the comeback with a 6-2 run capped by an Ondishin Ribon kill off an assist from Mackenzy Miller

The final set opened with the visitors racing out to a 13-4 advantage that included four kills from Ondishin Ribon. Lyco used a 6-2 spurt to try to climb back into it but Penn State Harrisburg answered back during a Miller service run that opened with a Camryn Wettstone kill and closed with a kill from DeGregory.
