LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his outstanding combination of athletic and academic success, as well as service to his campus and surrounding communities, Penn State Harrisburg's Brendan Henn has been named the United East Baseball Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The senior scholar-athlete award is one of the highest individual honors the conference bestows. The award is granted to one senior from each sport who represents the epitome of the student-athlete model thanks to their high level of performance on the field of play, in the classroom and in their community. Henn joins softball's Madelyn Lehigh as Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes to earn the award this season.

"Brendan has been a pivotal part of our program for four years," said head coach Ryan Bown. "He's one of only four players to eclipse the 200-hit mark. Extremely versatile, he played six positions here and did everything we asked of him. Along with his on-the field efforts, he was a model student and worked equally hard at his studies. The model of consistency both on and off the field, it will be extremely hard to replace Brendan next year."

One of the most successful players in program history, Henn has racked up numerous accolades over the years, including three second-team all-region plaudits and a trio of all-conference honors after being named the 2023 United East Championship Tournament MVP. He completed his career slashing an impressive .373/.476/.585 with a 1.061 OPS . Earlier this spring, the senior became the fourth player in program history to reach the 200-hit mark (220) before finishing his career ranked second all-time in doubles (45), third in runs (179) and walks (108), fourth in triples (7) and fifth in RBIs (146), home runs (22) and stolen bases (50).

Most recently, Henn was named second-team all-region by both the ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com following a 2025 campaign that saw him slash .369/.488/.594 with a 1.082 OPS. The Matamoras, Pa. native tallied 95 total bases on 59 hits, including six home runs, three triples and a dozen doubles. The versatile utility man scored 49 runs, drove in 45 more and swiped eight bases, while his 36 walks were good enough to rank him 36th among Division III players. Thanks to his performance on opening weekend, he was named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week after securing United East Player of the Week honors. Henn was named to the United East All-Conference First Team for his efforts.

Henn has also been strong in the classroom throughout his career. This spring, he earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades thanks to his combination of athletic and academic prowess. He is a two-time Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society inductee and he's garnered four straight conference all-academic awards. He also bolstered his academic experience with internships with Penn State Harrisburg's athletic training and strength and conditioning programs. The Kinesiology major recently graduated in May with a 3.75 cumulative GPA.

Off the diamond, Henn volunteered his time at In the Net Sports Complex in nearby Palmyra, helping set up facilities for athletic competition. One of this season's team captains and a member of the Kinesiology Club, he's also performed biomechanics research with the men's basketball program.
