LATHAM, N.Y. - Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis player Peng Mark Hou has been named the United East Player of the Year and head coach Andrew Bookman has been tabbed the conference's coach of the year to lead six all-conference honors for the program.

Hou becomes the fourth Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis player to earn the conference's top honor, joining former standouts Caleb Fockens (2022), Josh Cartmill (2012) and John Dixon (2011). Bookman is the second head coach to earn major award recognition after Becky Cecere was also named the league's coach of the year in 2012.

Hou also earned all-conference first team recognition as a singles and doubles player, as did teammates Cooper Wheeler and Damir Cuturic. Andrew Schreck secured all-conference first team honors as a doubles player, while Kevin Liang was named to the all-conference second team as a singles player.

Hou went 14-1 in singles play this season and finished 5-0 in United East play from the No. 1 solo position. The sophomore also finished 15-2 in doubles action, including a perfect 7-0 against United East opponents. For his efforts, the Datong, China native recently earned an "In Consideration" moniker for an NCAA Regional Ranking and was named the United East Player of the Week four times this season.

Bookman led Penn State Harrisburg to its second straight United East Championship and a second consecutive automatic berth in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Lions won 16 matches this season and finished 7-0 in conference play.

Wheeler finished with a 9-2 record in singles action this spring, going 6-0 from the No. 2 spot and winning three No. 1 contests. The sophomore was also 12-2 in double play, including 6-0 against conference competition.

Cuturic recorded a 13-2 overall record in solo competition, including a 5-0 mark against United East opponents, primarily from the No. 3 singles position. The sophomore also won a dozen matches in doubles play, also finishing a perfect 5-0 in outings against conference opponents.

Schreck finished 12-5 in doubles action this season, including 6-0 in conference play. The senior and Hou were especially strong in the No. 2 spot, winning each match they contested in United East play this spring.

Liang turned in a strong freshman campaign, going 11-2 in singles action during his rookie season. He was 5-0 in conference play and did much of his damage from the No. 4 singles position.

Fresh off winning a second consecutive United East Championship, the Lions will travel to Denison to face No. 38 North Central (Ill.) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 9.
