Women's Tennis Earns Fourth Straight Sweep

Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team secured a 7-0 sweep over Notre Dame of Maryland in a United East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, April 12.


The Lions (10-5, 5-1 United East) captured all three doubles matches, with Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis defeating Tam Truong and Renee Rosales 6-0 in the top contest, while Hailey Dey and Carissa Fallon went over Nwanneka Udolisa and Kritika KC 6-0 in the No. 2 outing. Anita Liu and Karina Ko made it a clean sweep in doubles with a 6-0 final over Tiffany Mercado and Leila Howard in the third matchup.


The momentum carried over into singles competition, starting with Wootton who bested Rosales 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 slot, while DeSantis battled to a 6-2 6-1 win over Truong in the second contest. In the third contest, Liu earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Udolisa, Dey swept KC 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot, and Ko topped Mercado 6-0, 6-1 in the fifth outing. Fallon secured the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 result over Howard in the No. 6 contest.


Penn State Harrisburg looks to expand the four-game streak on Tuesday, April 15 in a conference contest against Penn State Berks. The match will serve as the program's senior day recognition at the Hoverter Tennis Complex.
